Mystery Photo

Little girl, man and woman

I found this old photo stuck in the pages of a children's Bible I purchased second-hand. Isn't it interesting? I wish I knew the story behind it and who the people in it are.

Any guesses? I'm guessing the photo was taken in India, in commemoration of the little girl's first communion.

That's fascinating. Your guess is what I can glean from it also.

Last year we found a card in a used book from a big book sale. It seemed to be a letter sent home from WWII. There wasn't enough information to identify who might have lost it, though. I also found a recent snapshot in a library book, but the library doesn't store records of who checks out what, so I couldn't return it.

I love found treasures from books! I keep my plane ticket stubs in mine, so I can remember what I read in what country....which works well until I need one of those stubs for something and have to hunt through my 1,000+ books for it. LOL

Is there no name on the Bible itself?
It's a great picture.

What an interesting find! I'd really want to return it to the owner but I suppose there's just no way to know.

Madeleine, how fascinating about the letter from WWII.

Kai, you made me chuckle envisioning searching through the books for a tickets stub.

Grandmac, the book had an inscription in it dated 1988 when it was a gift to a child, which seems a bit too recent to go with the photo, but maybe I should try to see if anyone by that name lives in the area.

Thanks Wendy, Nicole and Heather.
