Just for kicks . . .

brown sweater set

Here are the rest of the outfits the kids took pictures of.

The rest are below the fold . . .

############################
brown wrap shell pink sweater, brown floral skirt

purple with digital shell :) purple with sweater

light blue too formal, too long

I really like the brown floral skirt, but I'm not crazy about any of those tops with it. And, yes, I know the necklace is crooked. That's because I had a whiny toddler pulling on me while we were trying to take pictures.

Of this set my picks are:
1. Blue
2. Purple (w/o sweater)
3. Black floral

While I love the brown floral skirt, the brown wrap blouse, and the pink blouse, I don't think they do good things for you in combination.

In my opinion, you look best in the empire-waisted and sashed dresses. They show off your beautiful figure.

I like the blue from this set better than the blue from the other set, and I still like the pink from the other set.

I think the pink may be my favorite of the whole bunch.

The pink is particularly good because it is festive yet tailored. It does nice things with your slenderness and makes you look taller.

Try it on with the shoes from the purple dress in this set!

Thanks, Liz. This sort of input is so helpful for me because I am *not* a fashionista.

The shoes with the purple dress are brown, though you can't really tell in that photo.

I think it's hard to see how things look on ourselves. We look in the mirror with eyes to see the flaws and not the sweet spots.

One of the things you've talked about before as a flaw is your slenderness, but in tailored clothing your slenderness is a sweet spot, along with your graceful figure and carriage.

Thanks, Liz . . . I have managed to gain about 15 lbs, so I'm much happier with my general health and appearance now. I don't know if I even have any photos of me in skeleton-mode. :)

okay, i'm with liz on the blue and purple. the blue looks like it hits you at the right part of your leg to keep you from looking short. (do i remember correctly you are petite in height?) and the blue is just pretty.

the sweater on the purple defeats the purpose of the waist - which actually makes you look more slender and less skinny (and that sounds like a concern, given your '15 pounds' statement). liz is right about the benefits of tailoring.

whatever you pick, i hope you feel beautiful in it, because that matters as much as anything else. for years now, my aunt has had to listen to family members constantly telling her she was "too skinny". Hell-ooo, she couldn't help it because of lupus, and she desperately wanted to gain weight but couldn't in the wake of repeated surgeries. It was just always sad to see her wilt when people couldn't see past her appearance. Then, she got some occasion dresses that fit her well (were tailored), and people began to see her self-confidence - and maybe they also got a clue.

okay, i've run off at the mouth too much, especially given the fact that i don't even know you. i hope you have a lovely time at the wedding, regardless of what you wear. :)

Amy, yes I am 5' 2" and currently a size 4 Petite (a size which almost no stores around here actually carry).

Between having health issues, dietary restrictions due to my own & Ebee's food allergies/intolerances, and nursing Ebee, I was really struggling to put on weight for a long time.

The funny thing is that after I finally gained the first 10 lbs or so, people would come up to me and say, "You look great! Have you lost weight?" and I'd have to tell them that, no, actually I looked better because I had GAINED weight, and was therefore healthier.

"Looks better due to gained weight. Error! Error! Does not compute!"

Yeah, people are amazing that way, aren't they?

The purple dress without the sweater is lovely. It would look especially wonderful with some delicate heeled shoes. A very nice color with your complexion and hair.

PK - I love that brown floral/pink top combo. I like the brown wrap, partly because I covet your slender arms, lol - but see that through the middle you kind of "disappear".

My top pic for you though is definitely the black floral - it is STUNNING on you! With some hemming, of course.

The blue does not seem fitted enough to me to really "grab" you in the right places - though the colors are nice.

The purple is nice (again w/o the sweater)- and I think would look really nice with silver strappy sandals or white rather than a dark shoe - would also tie in the pearls (a fabulous choice of jewelry with that dress) if you wore white shoes.

All that said, I think you could look radiant in a gunny sack.
